“Passionate About Providing Exceptional Care”

Amanda Haynes-Dale is a Managing Director at Highmore Group Advisors and President of AH Haynes & Co, Inc., and has one of the longest track records in the hedge funds industry. She previously co-founded and served as a Member of the Investment Committee, Chief Compliance Officer, and Managing Director at Pan Reliance Capital Advisors, a boutique alternative investment advisory firm.

Amanda founded AH Haynes & Co, Inc., her family office, in 1981. In 2018, she combined Pan Reliance, a Registered Investment Advisor of which she was the controlling shareholder, with Highmore Group Advisors, a larger Registered Alternative Investment Advisory Firm with more offerings and which now advises on approximately $2.7Bn. Highmore is active across the alternative investment spectrum in real estate and private credit, as well as hedge funds and private equity, liquid alternatives, and beyond. Amanda currently heads up Highmore’s Funds of Hedge Funds area and sits on Highmore’s Investment Committee. Her family office is also an investor in Highmore offerings. The founder of Highmore, Brian Altenburg, and Amanda first met around 20 years ago when she was on the Advisory Board of a London-based alternative investment firm, Key Asset Management, with which Brian was affiliated.

Being vision-driven, a strategic thinker, and goal-focused with a proven history of leadership and achievements, Amanda has been setting the standards and maximizing returns to capitalize on team strengths to improve firm-wide performance. For the steadfast leader, collaboration can build consensus among executive teams and stakeholders to promote transparency and influence positive change, which has been repeatedly proven. “Clear and effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders, including employees, customers, shareholders, and regulators, is the key,” she explains. “I also lead by example, by being true to myself, aware that I am observed and sometimes seen as a role model to other women.”

She has been promoting learning and creative thinking to keep curiosity for leading-edge trends in the industry, self-development, and striving for change that builds and rebuilds the organization that serves the customers well and performs at its best. Amanda advises everyone to be willing to take on new things even within their current role – gaining expertise in several areas will serve them well down the road.

Amanda came from an era in the late 70s when women in finance were mostly secretaries and did not hold many executive positions, as there was a lot of gender bias then. After being trained at Wertheim & Co, Inc., (now part of Morgan Stanley) for four years, she went out on her own in early 1980 and formed AH Haynes & Co, Inc. (“Haynes”) in 1981, a then broker-dealer that cleared through Wertheim, which made her feel successful, as she was the president of AH Haynes & Co. “In 1991 I started the predecessor Fund of Hedge Funds to Pan Highmore Multi Strategy Funds and received numerous awards. Along the way, I’ve been featured in a variety of publications and media outlets including the WSJ, Bloomberg, HFM Week, Hedge Fund Journal, Opalesque News, and CNBC news,” says Amanda. “In 2011, I was recognized as one of 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds by the Hedge Fund Journal and Ernst & Young. My advice is to make a clear and thoughtful plan and be courageous enough to follow through on it and make sure you surround yourself with the right people.”

As a woman leader, Amanda learned that every path to leadership is different, but there are commonalities all women can draw on. “Take risks, make an impact, believe in yourself, redefine equality and balance, and take more chances,” she says. Armed with this mindset, Amanda has evolved into an industry leader.

Highmore is a diversified global alternative asset management firm acting both as principal investors and allocators on behalf of private and institutional clients. Highmore’s mission is to provide a unique breadth and depth of expertise across the alternative investment universe in liquid and illiquid investments. Highmore was seeded around seven years ago with approximately $200M, and now it has grown to approximately $2.7B. “Our goals are to continue to offer attractive global offerings to qualified investors and to increase AUM. I look forward to continuing working collaboratively with my colleagues and for all of us to continue collaborating with our clients in showing them new offerings,” adds Amanda. ICX
